  • Vision Rehabilitation Therapist

    Bachelor or Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Teaching for the Visually Impaired


    Certification in Rehabilitation Teaching by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals or be eligible for certification


    Over 1 and up to 3 years of experience.


    Well-developed organizational and communication skills.


    Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; be detail-oriented, and possess time-management skills.


    Must have a valid Florida driver’s license, valid insurance and the ability to be insured under the company’s vehicle insurance policy or reliable transportation for travel.


  • Teacher of Children with Visual Impairments

    Currently seeking a Full Time or Part Time Teacher of Children with Visual Impairments – Early Intervention Program. This individual will provide early childhood development and instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum to visually impaired children aged birth to 5 years old and their families to help maximize their children’s self-sufficiency and independence as well as their physical, emotional, cognitive, social skills and development. Services are provided in the home, school and other appropriate environments. 


    Minimum Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree in special education, visual impairment education, early childhood education, speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other related degree required.  


    A minimum of one certification is required:

    • TVI
    • ACVREP O&M

  • Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist

    Provide orientation mobility instruction to blind and visually impaired participants; and contribute to the mission of Lighthouse by ensuring the fulfillment of contracts and maximizing the positive impact on participants, guided by precedent and working within the limits of established policies. 


    Bachelor or Master’s degree required, preferably with an emphasis in Orientation and Mobility from a university or college program of study in Orientation and Mobility.


    Certified as an Orientation Specialist by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals or be eligible for certification.


    Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred.


    Well-developed organizational and communication skills.


    Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; be detail-oriented, and possess time management skills.
