Providing Independence for the Blind and Visually Impaired
Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches assists persons with visual impairments to develop their capabilities to the fullest, and to utilize them in the pursuits of life, which are the right and privilege of all.
Our story is best told through this 75 Year Anniversary video.
Who We Help
Babies & Families
We provide comprehensive developmental services for babies who are blind or visually impaired, by helping to nurture their development and teach the parents and caregivers what to expect.
Youth and Teens
We provide quality services for children in kindergarten through High School graduation who are blind or visually impaired. This includes age-appropriate instruction and activities to help our young clients develop independence and to prepare them for their futures.
Adults and Seniors
We improve the lives of our adult clients by helping them reach their personal, vocational and education goals with specialized training in daily living skills, orientation and mobility, assistive technology and much more.
Start your sensory experience early as we paint A Starry Night Lighthouse – blind-folded. A specially trained art teacher of the visually impaired will guide us throughout the evening.
Have you ever imagined how a blind of visually impaired person interprets art? Imagine no more! Wearing blindfolds, you will touch, hear, taste, and smell diverse art forms created by local artists – then remove the blindfold. How did your imagination and insight compare to the art?
