Used Equipment Donation Program

Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches provides used equipment, when available, to individuals who express a need for such items, but do not have the financial ability to pay for them.

Upon request for consideration of equipment, the Lighthouse may inquire about the individual’s financial status to determine the need for this service. The Lighthouse will then evaluate the individual’s ability to operate the requested equipment.

We appreciate your tax-deductible donations of equipment to assist those in our community with visual impairments to live life more fully. Following are the criteria for donated equipment:

We accept equipment and software, such as electronic video magnifiers (also called CCTVs) or other magnification devices, computers, braille devices, Android and iOS devices, as well as other equipment that is designed to be accessible for people with visual impairments.

1. We can only accept equipment in working order.
2. Computers must have a minimum of 4 GB RAM, as well as a 1.5 GHz processor. We accept computers with Windows 7 or newer operating systems, as well as Mac computers and Chromebooks.
3. Donations are tax deductible, but we cannot estimate the value. A donation letter will be provided upon request.
